My story
I grew up in Dolni Bojanovice, a town located in the Moravia region of the Czech Republic. At age 7 I began my musical tuition at the Suzuki Music School where I enjoyed my first competitive success, winning first prize at The Concerto Bohemia in 1998. In 1999 at the age of 15, I started to study violin at P.J.Vejvanovsky Conservatory in Kromeriz (1999-2005). While there I performed with the Chamber Orchestra and enjoyed great success abroad, competing in Neerpelt, Belgium, winning first prize in 2003. During that summer I also toured in Switzerland with my own group Pentagram.
In 2004 I was touring in Germany and gaining valuable experience with the National Czech Symphony Orchestra before moving to Ireland in the summer of 2005.
I began to establish myself on the Irish scene, performing at theatres and festivals all over the country including multiple appearances at the Wexford Opera House, the National Concert Hall, the Theatre Royal in Waterford, the Kilkenny Roots Festival, as well as appearances on Television and radio. In 2008 I began working with The Three Tenors, touring regularly around Ireland and the U.K. I have also performed many times on The Late Late Show working alongside musicians such as José Carreras, Katherine Jenkins, Westlife, Tommy Fleming, and Vladimir Jablokov.
Outside of classical music, my passion has always been improvisation. At age 13 I began playing in bluegrass bands and since then I have been involved in many varied styles of musical genres.
In 2011 I decided to ground my improvisation, composition and arranging skills by studying at Newpark Music Centre (Dublin), receiving a degree in Jazz performance in 2014.
During that time I studied with Ronan Guilfoyle, one of Ireland’s foremost jazz musicians and composer, and with American jazz violin player Christian Howes who is my big inspiration next to Darol Anger, Billy Contreras, Fiona Monbet, Yo-Yo Ma, Chris Thile, Dave Holland and many others.
